SAHA EXPO 2026: MIS-PICK in the Defense Industry — Robotic Automation and AI
MIS Automation joined SAHA EXPO 2026 — the International Defense, Aviation and Space Industry Fair, held at the Istanbul Expo Center from May 5-9, 2026, together with our solution partner UTKU Otomasyon. At our booth we showcased our MIS-PICK robotic automation solution live and discussed AI applications for the defense industry with visitors.
About SAHA EXPO
SAHA EXPO is an international fair that brings together the defense, aviation and space industries under the patronage of the Presidency of the Republic of Türkiye. Hosting participants from more than 120 countries, the fair is one of the year's most critical meeting points for platform manufacturers, SMEs, start-ups and official delegations, with thousands of B2B matchings through the SAHA MATCH platform.
Joint Booth with UTKU Otomasyon
Our SAHA EXPO 2026 participation took place jointly with our solution partner UTKU Otomasyon. The MIS-PICK robotic cell displayed at their booth brought UTKU's defense industry integration experience together with MIS Automation's AI and 3D vision expertise. Inside the safety-enclosed cell, the robot arm autonomously detected and picked parts of varying shape and size, allowing visitors to follow the precision and grasping cycle step by step.
MIS-PICK: Robotic Automation Adapted for the Defense Industry
MIS-PICK is our 3D vision and AI-driven robotic bin picking solution. It autonomously detects, grasps and places randomly arranged parts. In the defense industry, MIS-PICK adds direct value in scenarios such as:
- Precision-assembly part selection and line feeding
- Removing human risk from ammunition and sub-component handling
- Autonomous robotic end-effector operations in warehouse and logistics flows
- Automatic loading ahead of calibration and quality control stations
Thanks to hybrid 2D + 3D camera usage, deep-learning-based segmentation and robot-agnostic motion planning (compatible with FANUC, ABB, KUKA, Yaskawa, Universal Robots), MIS-PICK integrates into existing defense industry production lines with minimal disruption.
AI in the Defense Industry: Conversations on the Floor
Throughout the fair we discussed AI applications for the defense industry in depth with our visitors. Image-processing-based target and part recognition, real-time decision making for autonomous systems, predictive maintenance, visual quality control and manless production line scenarios stood out as the leading topics.
As MIS Automation we shared with sector stakeholders how the solutions we have matured for years in civil industry — robotic bin picking, dexterous robotic hand, AI-based visual inspection and process agents — can be adapted to the defense industry's strict requirements for precision, safety and traceability.
