Robot Investments & Maintenance 4.0 Summit 2026: MIS-AGRO, MIS-TOUCH and the Industry 5.0 Vision
MIS Automation took its place at the Robot Investments and Maintenance 4.0 Summit 2026, held at the Mövenpick Istanbul Asia Convention Center in Pendik on May 6-7, 2026. At our booth we showcased our MIS-AGRO and MIS-TOUCH solutions and met with factory managers and decision-makers. Across two days we discussed manless production lines, AI-driven quality control and the transition from Industry 4.0 to Industry 5.0.
About the Summit
The Robot Investments and Maintenance 4.0 Summit is a niche meeting open only to attendees approved through pre-registration, targeting 1,000 select visitors. Covering predictive maintenance, energy efficiency, digital transformation, autonomous production systems and the factory of the future, the summit is one of the most focused industry events of the year for factory managers, maintenance directors and investment decision-makers.
Solutions on Display
- MIS-AGRO — our autonomous solution powered by 3D vision and AI. It offers ripeness and conformity detection, precise recognition and manless operation capability in harvesting and picking processes. We ran a live demo at our booth using a real lemon plant with a cobot + 3D camera setup.
- MIS-TOUCH — Türkiye's first dexterous robotic hand. With 11 degrees of freedom, a 508-point pressure sensor and multimodal tactile sensing, we demonstrated robotic pick-and-place of parts from shelves and conveyors. We showcased the grasping capability that approaches the precision of the human hand on the production line.
Our booth banner also highlighted our integrated approach that brings together the technologies of our solution partners Mech-Mind, OPT Machine Vision, Zebra Aurora Vision, Solomon and Photoneo.
Topics Discussed: Manless Solutions on the Production Floor
Topics that came up at our booth and in corridor conversations throughout the summit:
- AI-driven quality control — end-of-line visual inspection, deep-learning approaches for surface, dimension and assembly verification
- Robotic pick-and-place — safe handling of products with MIS-TOUCH, including fragile and sensitive part scenarios that were previously handled by hand
- Manless production infrastructure — line feeding, warehouse-to-production logistics and autonomous station integration
- Process orchestration — the MIS-AGENT approach for AI-based work-order management, asset tracking and preventive maintenance
From Industry 4.0 to Industry 5.0, Towards the Dark Factory
The most frequently discussed vision at the summit was how current Industry 4.0 implementations can transform into Industry 5.0. The core difference between the two concepts:
- Industry 4.0: Connected machines, IoT, data collection and process optimization — making the factory efficient.
- Industry 5.0: Human-robot collaboration, AI-driven decision making, dexterous robotics and sustainability — making the factory intelligent and adaptive.
One step beyond, the dark factory (lights-out manufacturing) concept was also on the agenda: facilities where all production runs manless, lights-out and 24/7 through robotic systems. In Turkish industry the dark factory is still at an early stage; however, with the right automation and AI layers, existing lines can transition into lights-out mode in incremental stages.
At our booth we walked stakeholders through how MIS-PICK, MIS-TOUCH, MIS-INSPECT and MIS-AGENT integrate at the line level for this transition — i.e. how we architect the production line's "eyes, hands, brain and memory" under a single framework.
